Okay, so I probably didn't do too well on your characters, so I apologize. Also, I made them all high school age, even though I know they aren't that age. I'm sorry yet again! Also sorry that it is so short. Hope you enjoy it anyways!
Oh, and I made my own pair here which is probably completely unrealistic. Oh well, haha.

---

"Settle down, class, settle down," said the teacher as she walked into the high school classroom. "I know this is exciting, so let me explain to everyone who may not know what is going on. We will be holding a talent contest, and the person with the best talent will win $100. You will be preforming tonight, and if you do have no prepared yourself by then, you cannot compete!" she announced. The classroom buzzed with noise of great excitement.
"I'm going to be dancing," said Akitoshi with finality. Other students joined in with announcing what they planned for the contest, and soon it seemed almost everyone had an idea.
"What will you be doing, G?" asked Pain, her eyes full with curiosity.
G-Money thought about it for a moment, but then shook his head. "No, probably not," he said. Although he would have liked to show Pain some of his talents, but he didn't need to the money, someone else was better off having it.
"Oh, that's too bad," said Pain, "I think Chandler will be participating," she said, almost as if she was trying to get G into joining the contest.
However, G-Money did not approve of this tactic. She was probably right, Chandler would definitely be competing, and what if he won? Pain would be all over him, wouldn't she? He would not only be able to buy her nice things with $100, but it would show how cool some girls think he is, even if he disagreed with that. "You know, that's a pretty good mount of money," suggested G, pretending he was in deep thought, despite his mind already being made up. "I could do some guitar, what do you think?"
Pain smiled and said, "I think that's a great idea!" G-Money was glad just getting her approval, and the idea of participating no longer seemed terrible. In fact, he might enjoy it.
"Hey, Pain, G-Mon!" said Yuji from across the room.
"I told you not to call me that," mumbled G as Yuji approached the two, but the black-haired boy didn't seem to notice, and if he did he didn't care.
"Hey, listen. I have this idea for the talent show, so get this. Magic tricks! Cool, right?" he said with a sly and mischievous grin that G-Money was not liking so far.
Yuji's group of friends, or followers, as G liked to call them, followed Yuji and began muttering with excitement at the thought of seeing Yuji's trick. Of course he would do well, right? Everyone knew it, too.
"I'll help!" Atana volunteered, not surprising anyone. Her obvious crush on the talented Yuji was obvious to everyone, except to Yuji himself, who appeared to harbor his own feelings for her, but wasn't quite aware of them yet.
He let out a small blush and looked like he wanted to say yes, but he already had a devious and sure-fire plan and couldn't let this opportunity go. "Sorry, Atana. I was actually going to ask G-Mon and Pain to help me!" he said with slight sorrow.
Atana frowned then shook her head. "No, it's okay! I'm sure you'll do great!" There was a giggle or two from the other members of the Yuji fan club, but no one said anything else on the subject.
"Again with the nickname! Anyway, did we say we would help you?" said G-Money with a stern voice as he stood up from his desk.
Pain stood up as well and said, "Actually, G-Money, I think we should help. It might fun." She shrugged and everyone looked at her with a little surprise, especially G.
"Oh. Well if Pain says so then I say 'why not?'" G-Money told them, and everyone laughed, although he was left clueless as to why.
Yuji, however, had a wide grin on his face and reach for his bright red backpack. "Sweet! Hold on...," he said as he searched through his backpack for something unknown. He finished at last and pulled out what appeared to be a pair of handcuffs. "Okay, hands please." Pain gave him her hand and he clipped one cuff over her small wrist. Yuji glared at G-Money for a moment, who was very skeptical of the handcuffs. However Pain had already had her hand cuffed and he couldn't back down now that she was involved. He held out his hand and Yuji took it, clipping the other cuff on his hand, opposite to Pain's.  "Now, I show you this key," Yuji said and the group nodded. "I only have this one key with me, and I am to throw it out the window. I will then un-cuff these two without using the key," he announced with a smile.
Everyone walked over to the window and watched as Yuji tossed the key to the ground and into the bushes below. He then reached back into his backpack and pulled out a matching red cloth. He placed the cloth over both Pain and G-Money's cuffed hands. He closed his eyes and pointed a finger at the cloth. The crowed watched with intensity and excitement, wondering if it really worked. They all had the utmost confidence in him. "Ala-Kazam!" he said, the volume of his voice higher than necessary.
Yuji pulled the cloth off their hands and behold! They were still attached with no sign of any magical changes being made. "Oh, ah, I forgot. The trick only works with the key," he murmured, glancing at the window with anxiousness. "Right, right, right! G was supposed to have the key under his sleeve and then unlock it when I shouted the words. "Woops, my bad," he said with a nervous shrug as G-Money gave him an angry and intense stare. Yet the crowd around them laughed as though it was any human mistake. G thought it may have been a trick, that he had just wanted to embarrass G-Money and more importantly, Pain. However the look in Yuji's eyes was full of regret and he couldn't be mad at the boy, as much as he wanted to.
"Great," he mumbled. "Just go and find it, would you? I'm busy!" G-Money said, wishing he had a better excuse for wanting to find the key. It wasn't that he didn't want to stay connected to Pain, not having to let her go. It was the fact that he could feel his face growing hot and the close proximity was making him nervous. Pain blushed a little as well, but she was better at hiding it.
Yuji nodded with fierceness. "I'll find it, on the double! Anyone care to help?" he asked, which was followed by a chorus of 'sure's,' the loudest by far coming from Atana, which seemed to please him. "You two just stay put while we go find it!" he said, brimming with confidence.
"But we have-," Too late. "classes," said Pain with a sigh. G-Money nodded with empathy, sighing as well.
"At least today our classes are together. I'm sure they'll find it by the end of the day, anyway!" said G as he tried to lighten the mood, but it wasn't very successful. It hurt, just a little, that she was so upset over being handcuffed to him. G-Money, on the other hand, wouldn't have minded it at all if she was happier.
Pain nodded, "I'm sure they will," she said, as if she was only going along with it for his sake.
"Okay, class. Time to start," the teacher announced at the students settled down. G-Money looked over to Pain, feeling embarrassed. They always sat next to each other but of course it was different with their hands attached. "G-Money? Pain? May I ask why your hands are cuffed together. I understand you two never want to be separated, but-,"
"It's not like that!" G exclaimed just a little too fast, his face bright red. "I mean, it was Yuji," he explained in a mumble.
The teacher nodded and said, "I don't find that hard to believe, but if you could just put your seat together it might make things easier."
Pain and G glanced at each other then nodded. G-Money always felt odd around Pain, like he was back in middle school and couldn't touch girls because they had cooties. Of course, he had no problem with sitting next to Pain a little closer, but he didn't want to make her uncomfortable.
Yet Pain didn't seem to mind as she pushed her desk up to his own. G smiled at her and she smiled back, the awkwardness of the situation starting to disappear. After all, they have been friends for such a very long time that  such closeness shouldn't have bothered them, and it didn't, for the most part. What did bother G-Money was how much he wanted the their hands to stay cuffed so they could be together.

The day went on the same for Pain and G-Money, them explaining to the teachers their situation and shoving their desks next to one and other. However, it did not go without it's odd situations. On their way to the cafeteria, G-Money tripped over his own foot, bringing him to the ground, as well as Pain, who landed on top of him. They were astonished for a moment, both with tomato-colored complexions and too much shock to make any move to stand up. Of course, they did in the end and pretended it never happened. After this, they continued on to their classes like normal and it was now the end of the day.
Yet there was one thing that bothered G very much. Pain was putting on a normal everyday expression, but there was something in her deep brown eyes that told him something was wrong, but she wasn't sharing what it was. Was this situation really as bad as she looked like it was? G was starting to feel a little guilty, as he had been almost enjoying it, the fact that she was his, well, kind of. He would never say that, anyway. He wondered what Chandler would have done if he had seen.
The bell rang and school was let out for the rest of the day, until they would meet for the contest that night.
"G, Pain!" yelled a familiar voice from the right of the couple, Yuji coming into view. "I've been looking for you two all day! Did you know we don't have, like, any classes together?" he said as he panted and leaned up against the hallway wall.
"Did you find the key?" asked G-Money with slight desperateness.
"Well of course I did!" replied the rowdy teen. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small silver key, a little bit of dirt on the end. As he fiddled with the lock, he said, "You know? I don't think I'm going to do the contest this year. It would be no fun if we all knew who was going to win!"
G-Money rolled his eyes and whispered to Pain, "And who would that be?"
Pain smiled and gave a slight laugh accompanied by classic Pain smile, showing she was returning to her normal self. Yuji continued to work the lock until they heard a tiny clicking sound and both cuffs opened up, their wrists being released.
"All set! See you too later tonight!" Yuji said with accomplishment as he nodded at his handy work. He then  nodded to the two and set off in the opposite direction from where he came from.
"That's a relief," Pain said, smiling as she did so.
G-Money nodded but frowned and looked away from her face. "I'm sorry," he said with sorrow, feeling ashamed of himself, even if the event wasn't his fault.
"What, sorry? For what?" Pain asked, and G looked up to see her surprised face. "I'm the one who's sorry! I thought that if we weren't able to get them undone you wouldn't be able to do the talent contest tonight," she said with equal depression in her tone as G's apology had.
G-Money stared at her for a moment, his mouth open in a surprised gap. "That's what you were bothered about? Wow, and here I was thinking you were starting to hate me!" G exclaimed with a sigh of relief. "Anyway, I'll be fine. I need to get home and practice now," he told her.
Pain smiled and before he set off she said, "I could never hate you, G. Good luck!" and the two left in separate ways, but not without glancing back to grin at each other.

That night came fast and G-Money was already backstage in the school auditorium with his guitar strapped over his back. A couple acts had already passed by and his turn was up next. His hands were feeling a little sweaty and he was shaking, just a little bit. After all, Pain was going to watch him while he was on an actual stage. He couldn't mess up!
There was an uproar of clapping from the stage after the previous act had finished, and G went to the stool behind the curtain and took a seat.
The curtains were pulled up and G was shown to the crowd. He swung his guitar from behind him so it lay on his lap and he could begin. This song is for Pain, he thought to himself, but didn't voice it, not wanting to embarrass her. His fingers laid on the strings, holding them down as he strummed and switching when need be. It had only just started when he was almost finished, the music of the guitar quieting as he finished. G-Money heard the crowd's cheerful clapping, but he only saw Pain, who clapped while looking up at him with a smile.
After G-Money stepped off the stage, he ran to snatch the seat in the audience next to Pain, which it appeared she had been saving for him. "You did amazing!" she said with cheer.
"Thanks," G said, his face growing warm as he grew nervous. "Next is Chandler," he informed her and she nodded.
Chandler stepped onto the stage as he tightened his line green headband around his forehead. He sat on the school that G-Money had used to play guitar, then he smiled and prepared himself. G-Money recalled that he would be doing stand up comedy.
"This is for Pain!," Chandler started, blowing a kiss to Pain as she looked away. "Okay, so a man walks into a bar," Chandler paused, "Wait, I'm not allowed to tell that one, alcohol. Okay, so this girl...," G-Money and Pain didn't hear the rest of his failed attempt as making jokes as they were laughing too hard to themselves to hear. G had to admit that Chandler could be funny at times, when not involving Pain, but as a stand-up comedian? It was embarrassing to watch!
After a few minutes of failing to make a successful joke, Chandler left his spot on the stage, wearing an expression that said he thought he did pretty good, even if no one in the audience laughed.

A few minutes passed by as the teachers chose the winner of the contest in private and soon one teacher came out with an envelope. "I will now announce the winner!" she declared as she started to open the envelope. "And the winner of this year's Talent Contest and $100 is... Akitoshi!" The audience erupted in cheers and happiness as Akitoshi, the wonderful dancer, was announced the winner. As long as it wasn't Chandler who won, G didn't care. Akitoshi may not be the most friendly person ever, but he could sure dance.
"I think you should have won," Pain told G, blushing as she did so. This made his own face turn red as well, but it also made him very happy.
"Thanks, Pain," he said with a light smile. "See you tomorrow?"
Pain nodded and smiled back with what looked like the widest smile she could possible have, and said, "See you tomorrow!"

I apologize greatly that I am just getting it in now! I hope all your late entries were worth the weight! I feel I could have done so much more with this, I only wish I hadn't procrastinated.
I feel so incredibly bad for BlackHeart, I hope she doesn't mind that it basically is the deadline right now.

Anyway, most of what I need to say is in the beginning and end in the story.

Oh my gosh! What fun this one was. Pure excitement, I really truly enjoyed reading it.

My favorite part was "Yuji pulled the cloth off their hands and behold! They were still attached with no sign of any magical changes being made." I laughed out loud so hard, I hope I didn't wake up my family, lol. That rocked!

I really REALLY love the fact that you made them at a school, they are actually highschoolers, so you did perfectly with that! :)

I also really like the fact that you didn't make G win, which would have made it so obvious, I LOVE that you made Akitoshi win with his dancing, such a great eye for the details of my characters.

Great work! Truly an amazing piece, I am very glad you got to enter. :) This was great!
Good luck to you in the contest!
